Isoko North/South Elected Chairmen and Councilors Called to Put their Trust in God

OZORO/Nigeria: The newly sworn in chairmen and councilors of Isoko North and South Local Government Council have been called to work in love, unity and trust in God for effective administration of their various council areas.

The call was made during a prayer session by the Delta State Christian Community, which was led by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, held at the two council secretariats on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Ozoro and Oleh.

The Executive Assistant speaking at the Isoko South Council Secretariat, called on the Chairman to always trust in God for him to succeed as the Chief Executive Officer of the council, as he reminded him that work without trust in God will not succeed.

“Mr Chairman, you have to trust in God, as God has in the Scripture had asked that we should always trust in him.”

He called on the chairman to ensure that his program in the area is human angle programs that will improve the lives of the people, with open hands to the councilors, and the staff.

Bishop Nmalagu speaking directly to the councilors, called for their corporation with the chairman, to ensure development in Isoko North, as the social economic development is what is mainly needed by the people of the area.

“The people of this Local government voted you in to serve them, so please avoid any rancor among you, resolve you differences in a gentleman way, for this local government need development. With quarrel and anger, you can’t succeed.” He admonished.

Reacting to the prayer session, the Chairman of the Isoko North Council, Hon Emmanuel Eghalor, thanked the ministers of God for the prayer, and promised the council a better development, and asked the workers and councilors to join him to achieve that set goal.

At Isoko South, still speaking the message of love and unity, Bishop Nmalagu advised the chairman and the entire executive to work together, and also ensure that the members of the legislative arms and workers are carried along.

He called on them to trust in God, and his son Jesus Christ to move the Local Government forward at all time, by working in love, unity and trust.

“Work in Love, Work in Unity, and Trust in God.” He said.

Reacting to the message the chairman, Hon Ikpokpo C. Malik, while thanking the Executive Assistant to the governor on Religious Matters, and his entourage, said he had never been ashamed to preach Christ in his life, and with his second coming, he has already dedicated it to God, and the prayer session is a further confirmation of that.

The prayer session by the members of Delta State Christian Community, who had come together to partner with those in government at all level, with the main purpose of praying for the success of government programs, projects and peace in the state.

The prayers at both local governments were with scriptural reading and exhortation. It involved almost 50 minsters of God at both venues, which among them is Rev. Dr. Cyril Okonye.
