Isoko South LG Chairman Mourns Former Council Secretary, Eddy Ugboma

OLEH/Nigeria: The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Eddy Sagini Ugboma, a former Secretary to the Council and a respected elder statesman. Ugboma, who was a member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council and a former commissioner in the Delta State Civil Service Commission, died on Thursday. He was also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and father to renowned comedian Bovi.

In a statement from his office, Warri described Ugboma’s death as a profound loss not only to the PDP but also to the people of Isoko South and Delta State at large. He extolled the late statesman’s contributions to governance, academia, and community development, noting that Ugboma’s influence spanned politics, administration, and historical scholarship.

“Dr. Ugboma was a distinguished elder statesman, an accomplished administrator, academician, and historian who served in various capacities across the country. His absence will be deeply felt in the political landscape of Isoko South and Delta State,” Warri stated. “Beyond politics, he was a committed community leader who played a pivotal role in the development of Iveogbo-Irri in Isoko South.”

The council chairman described Ugboma as a man of integrity and patriotism, whose life was marked by dedication and decency. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the Irri Kingdom, praying for strength and comfort for those he left behind.

“A distinguished statesman and a devoted patriot has passed away. On behalf of the government and people of Isoko South, I extend my condolences to the immediate family of Dr. Eddy Ugboma and the Irri Kingdom. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength in this difficult time,” Warri said.
