ISSELE-MKPITIME/Nigeria: The Obi of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, has applauded Senator Ned Munir Nwoko for fulfilling his promise to revisit the community and push forward key development projects. The senator’s visit on Saturday, June 7, drew praise from the monarch and his traditional cabinet for what they described as “integrity in action.”
Receiving the Delta North senator at the palace, the Obi recalled an earlier meeting in Abuja, where he had tabled vital requests including the construction of an ICT Centre and an access road. He noted that Senator Nwoko’s follow-up visit demonstrated leadership built on trust and responsibility. “If I list out all the requests I have, you might take off running,” the Obi joked, before adding, “But just like Oliver Twist, I must ask for more.”
The monarch, while reaffirming the community’s hopes, expressed deep appreciation for the senator’s consistency in engagement. “When you thank a doer, he is encouraged to do even more. As you leave, you will always return in peace,” he said, praying for the senator’s continued success in his legislative responsibilities.
Responding, Senator Nwoko reassured the community that the proposed ICT Centre was not just on paper, but “a done deal.” He emphasized that beyond erecting a structure, the facility would be fully functional and built to last. “We will ensure that the centre is equipped with 100 computers, smart televisions, and internet access for at least five years,” he promised.
The senator also revealed additional infrastructure support, including a fresh three-kilometre road project within Issele-Mkpitime. Furthermore, he announced an expansion of his scholarship initiative, with five more indigent youths from the community set to receive full sponsorship to study at his Sports University.
The visit marked a reaffirmation of Senator Nwoko’s grassroots development agenda and left the Issele-Mkpitime community hopeful and appreciative of a leader who delivers on his word.
