OZORO/Nigeria: Workers of Isoko North Local Government Area in Delta State erupted in celebration on Monday as the council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, presided over the foundation-laying ceremony for a new administrative complex in Ozoro, the council’s headquarters.
Accompanied by his wife, Veronica Ogorugba, councillors, and senior council officials, including Secretary to the Council Vote Umukoro and Treasurer Fejiro Elo Ogbogbo, Ogorugba expressed heartfelt gratitude for the progress achieved under his administration. He called on the contractor to adhere to best practices and deliver the project on schedule, emphasising the importance of quality in public infrastructure.
“This is indeed a momentous occasion for us in Isoko North Local Government,” Ogorugba declared. “As the biblical saying goes, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.’ We commit this project into God’s hands. I envisioned a conducive working environment for our staff, and this administrative complex is designed to facilitate efficient operations and administrative convenience.”
The chairman linked the project to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, underscoring its focus on grassroots development and quality delivery. “All our initiatives are aimed at consolidating His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda. I have urged the contractor to follow the agreed specifications and uphold the high standards expected under the Governor’s quality-driven agenda,” he stated.
Once completed, the complex will house all council officials, providing a centralised and modern workspace.
The ceremony’s highlight was a prayer session led by Pastor Raphael Asotie, the Resident Pastor of the Living Faith Church in Ozoro, who, alongside other clerics, invoked divine blessings on the project and its successful completion.
The occasion marked a significant milestone in Ogorugba’s tenure, further reinforcing his administration’s commitment to enhancing governance at the local level.
