Obiaruku: As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Education is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating a sustainable planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace.
It was jubilation and relief for parents and students today in Kwale and Obiaruku, as the Deputy Speaker, Delta State house of Assembly and Chairman, Friday Osanebi Foundation (FOF), Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, paid school fees of 100 indigent students.
According to the foundation Admin Secretary, Agbanashi Obinne, the school fees project was one of Osanebi’s many efforts to help ameliorate the sufferings of the people, consolidate on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s prosperity agenda and enhance academic excellence for indigent and brilliant students.
Commending the effort of the foundation , Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Alex Aniche described the gesture as noble and second to non.
Aniche noted that the foundation’s effort was key, most especially now that the nation at large is facing serious economic challenge.
He thanked the foundation chairman for his benevolence and urged parents and beneficiaries to continue to pray for the Deputy Speaker.
Parents couldn’t hide their joy as they said that the foundation’s gesture was a big relief to them and promised to put the money to judicious use.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Miss Obuji Love thanked the foundation and promised to study hard so that the foundation can reap the fruit of their investment in human capital development.
