Kachikwu, Emerhor to re-position Delta APC

Asaba: All Progressives Congress, APC, has appointed a seven-man Leadership Council, co-chaired by the Minister of State, (Petroleum), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and the party’s 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, to run affairs of the party in the state.apc

The decision was taken at a trouble-shooting meeting in Abuja presided over by National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, to restore peace to the troubled party on Wednesday night. Among other highlights at the meeting was that the state executive of the party, headed by Prophet Jones Erue, would not be sacked.

Chief Odigie-Oyegun who had stopped the two major factions of the party in the state from holding parallel meetings last Saturday, met some leaders of the party in Abuja with a resolution to sustain the Prophet Jones Erue-led executive.

The meeting, however, adjusted the earlier mandate given to the Minister of State (petroleum), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu to lead the party in the state as it also resolved that the minister should co-lead the party with 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun Otega Emerhor.

Among those present at the meeting were Kachikwu, the South-South zonal chairman, Prince Hilard Eta, Prophet Erue Jones, Emerhor and some relatively new members of the party among whom was Chief Ayiri
