Kosofe Chamber of Commerce Targets N1 Billion Investment to Drive Economic Growth

LAGOS/Nigeria: The Kosofe Chamber of Commerce & Industry Cooperative Multipurpose Society has set an ambitious target of N1 billion in investment as part of its strategic push to boost economic growth and development. The initiative was unveiled by Mr. Joe Femi-Dagunro during the inauguration of the society’s executives in Lagos.

Speaking at the event, Femi-Dagunro emphasized the importance of attracting substantial investments to support local businesses and create opportunities for entrepreneurs in the region. “The goal is to facilitate funding access, stimulate economic activity across various sectors, and enhance business networking. This target will be achieved through partnerships and outreach to social investors, aligning with the Chamber’s priorities and strategic plans,” he stated.

The Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperative, and Investments was represented by Area Officer Mrs. A.M. Onabanjo, who urged the newly inaugurated executives to adhere strictly to cooperative laws and ensure prudent fund management. Her remarks were echoed by Mr. Kolawole Akinribido, Senior Registrar of Cooperatives, who delivered a lecture on the significance of cooperative societies in economic empowerment.

In her inaugural speech, the newly sworn-in president of the Kosofe Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Mrs. Patricia Femi-Dagunro, assured members of transparent financial management and profitable investments. She reiterated the society’s commitment to grassroots financial inclusion and sustainable economic impact.

The event was attended by key industry leaders, such as Mr. Jide Aremo, Chairman, Supreme Micro Finance Bank, Dr. Muda Yusuf, CEO of CPPE; Dr. Mrs. Dideolu Adekogbe, CEO of Flourish Gate Consult; Mr. Benedict Odulana, General Manager of Distinguished Awards; Mrs. Vivian Eze, CEO of Halvan Hill Schools; and Mr. Ayodele Iyaomolere, CEO of Point Marketing Company.

With high expectations for the society’s investment drive, stakeholders believe that this initiative could position Kosofe as a thriving hub for business growth and economic expansion in Lagos.
