Kwale/Beneku Residents Commend DTSG for Construction of Access Road, Bridge

KWALE/Nigeria: The people of Kwale-Beneku in Ndokwa West and East Local Government Areas have expressed appreciation to the state government for the timely construction of the approach road and bridge to Beneku.
Speaking in an interview, a resident and trader in the area, Mrs Elohor Igwara said the construction of the project is a welcome development as it would put an end to the untold hardship the people of the area had been experiencing.
According to Mrs Elohor, “the only means of crossing to and from Beneku was through the local ferry Pontu which work when it suits the operators.”
“Lives had been lost in the past, particularly pregnant women who could not access health facilitates on time due to the epileptic services of the Pontu.
“With the construction and completion of the project, evacuation of agricultural produce from Beneku and it’s environs would be easier and faster thereby boosting the socio-economic activities of the people in the area,” Mrs Elohor explained.
Also speaking, a commercial cyclist in the area, Mr Francis Chukwudi said that the construction of the road and bridge projects would make movement seamless, pointing out that the commercial cyclists would no longer visit the mechanic workshop frequently.
He commended the contracting firm handling the project for the pace and quality of job done, noting that the project when completed would improve the aesthetics of the area.
