Kwale Residents Express Disgust on the Number of Potholes on the Roads …Hail the New Look of the Eke Market

KWALE/Nigeria: With the onset of the rainy season, residents of Kwale, the headquarters of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, had complained of the unattended bad roads by the state and local government, as the roads had become very bad, with a lot of potholes, making movements with every form of transportation, and leg very difficult.

Reacting to investigation by www.ndokwareporters.com, the residents while commending the government for the new look of the main market in the town, they complain of the roads, and called for an urgent attention to rescue the roads to mitigate the pains and sufferings of commuters and people that uses the roads in the town.

The generality of the responded said the state government led by Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to look into the matter, as the people are facing serious pains in plying the roads.

“We appeal to the governor to look into the bad spots in all the roads in the major streets of the town that have condemned lots of cars and caused so many accidents.”

They are appealing to him to see if there is a way the government can rehabilitate them before the rainy season proper during which time it will be difficult for road users to identify bad spots.

Meanwhile, the people of the town, despite the bad roads have expressed gratitude to the governor on the renovation/completion of their market complex which had been abandoned for a very long time.

The market, popularly known as the Eke market is the economic hub of the residents of kwale as over 80% of women and youths depend on the market for their livelihood.

The market complex which had been abandoned by previous local government chairmen after collecting money from traders for allocation of shops has now been renovated to modern standard by His Excellency, Sen.Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
