Labour Party Chieftain, Chief Utomi Nwanne, Backs Creation of Anioma State

ASABA/Nigeria: Chief Utomi Nwanne, a prominent Labour Party chieftain and the party’s candidate in the 2023 National Assembly elections for Ika Federal Constituency, has expressed strong support for the creation of Anioma State. He believes that the proposed state will bring significant benefits, including greater autonomy, development, and economic opportunities for the people of Anioma.

Reacting to ongoing debates about the proposed creation of Anioma State, Chief Nwanne urged all Anioma sons and daughters, both at home and abroad, to rally behind the cause, describing it as a historic and worthwhile pursuit. According to him, the benefits of the proposed state are numerous and permanent.

“As a proud son of Anioma, I make an open appeal to our people to fully support all positive efforts aimed at actualizing the creation of Anioma State,” Nwanne stated. “Anioma State will bring substantial development to the region, including better job opportunities, improved management of financial and material resources, and enhanced energy sector efficiency.”

He emphasized that the creation of Anioma State would lead to fewer regulations and less government intervention in individuals’ personal lives, fostering greater autonomy for residents and potentially reducing taxes. Nwanne also noted that the new state could reduce bureaucracy, streamline decision-making processes, and stimulate economic growth by encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation.

“Anioma State will undoubtedly promote freedom and efficiency,” he added, asserting that the creation of the state would have a transformative impact on the region.

Chief Nwanne concluded by highlighting that the effectiveness of a smaller government, as Anioma State would provide, depends on the specific needs of its people, but he remains confident that such a state would bring long-lasting progress and prosperity to Anioma.
