OKPANAM/Nigeria: The need for story collaboration and unity of purpose among landlords and landladies with a view to ensure peace and security as well as socioeconomic growth and development of their areas has been stressed.
The Chairman of Unity Estate Landlords and Landladies Association, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Ikechukwu Okafor stated this in Okpanam during the burial ceremony of his mother, late madam Theresa Omeba Okafor who died at the age of 97 years.
Mr. Okafor, who described his mother as a virtuous, accommodating and kind-hearted woman, adding that the deceased lived a God fearing life.
He pledged to sustain the legacies of his mother, saying that late madam Theresa Omeba Okafor was lived life worthy of emulation even as he appreciated well-wishers from far and near for gracing the occasion to identify with his family.
In their separate remarks, a renowned lawyer in the community, Barr. Tony Sawyer, Mr. Awele Sawyer and Joseph Sawyer who were nephews to the deceased said that late madam Omeba Okafor was a worthy and caring aunt to them.
They said that she was always accessible to everyone, adding that they would missed her motherly advice and urged the children to sustain the peace and unity their mother was known for.
Barr. Tony Sawyer stated that several times the deceased showed love to the needy by providing for them whatever she could assist them whenever they sought for her help.
Speaking with journalists, the Public Relations Officer of Unity Estate Landlords and Landladies Association, Comr. Tunde Oliogu said that death was inevitable end to humanity, stressing that the deceased was a good woman who laid a solid foundation for her children in life.
He noted that there was more strength when a house was united, noting that the Unity Estate landlords landladies association was one big family that seek and promote growth and development of people in their neighborhood.
In a related development, late Emeka Christopher Ideh had been described as an accessible person who was always willing to reconcile issues at all times, adding that his death had created vacuum.
In an interview with newsmen during the burial ceremony of the deceased held in Okpanam, Mr. Raphal Okaeze and Chukwudi Obi who were both relatives of the late Mr. Emeka Ideh said that he was a man who always stood for justice even as they urged the immediate family he left behind to emulate his life style.
