LAGOS/Nigeria: The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has honoured outstanding members of its workforce at a productivity award ceremony held at its headquarters in Ijora-Olopa, where a serving corps member was offered automatic employment and some temporary staff were confirmed.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Muyiwa Gbadegesin, praised the awardees for their diligence, discipline and commitment to maintaining a cleaner Lagos. He said the initiative was part of the agency’s broader effort to reward excellence, motivate staff and strengthen welfare.
Gbadegesin urged employees to sustain high performance while upholding integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, stressing that LAWMA would continue to recognise outstanding contributions.
In her remarks, the Head of Administration and Human Resources, Zakinat Ranti Dosunmu, described the awards as a call to greater responsibility, assuring staff that dedication and professionalism would not go unnoticed.
Award recipients, drawn from senior, junior and project categories, received plaques and gift items in recognition of their contributions to the agency’s operations.
Also speaking, the Executive Director, Kunle Adebiyi, said the productivity awards would be sustained, noting that excellence would remain a core value celebrated within the organisation.
