LG POLLS: Ejakpovi Ascribes PDP Victory to Leadership Style Of Okowa

ASABA/Nigeria: Chairman, Governing Council, Delta State School of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Dr. (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi has linked the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the recently conducted local government elections in Delta State to the administrative acumen of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Speaking with journalists today January 8, 2018 shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the elected Chairmen of local government councils in Asaba, Dr.  Ejakpovi, disclosed that activities of Governor Okowa since his assumption of office has given a boost to the fortunes of the PDP which manifested during the elections.
“Deltans spoke with one voice across the state during the elections, Deltans came out to say that they appreciate Governor Okowa by voting for candidates of the party during the elections,” Dr Ejakpovi said, adding, “if the Governor is not performing, Deltans would have voted against the candidates of our party but, they said, where the Governor is, that is where they will be because, the Governor has provided infrastructure, produced job and wealth creators.”
Dr. Ejakpovi specifically commended the people of Isoko nation for making the right choice of returning Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor and Hon Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo as the Chairmen of Isoko North and South local government areas respectively stating that it was also historic that Hon. Joy Okeoghene emerged as the first female Vice Chairman of Isoko North local government area.
“The election was a clear case that PDP is on ground in Delta State, our Governor showed his love for the party by following the campaign train to all the local government councils in the state, the party took the local government elections as if it were Presidential elections, so, while other parties were thinking of using undemocratic means to win, the PDP led by Governor Okowa was wooing Deltans, telling the people why they should vote for our party and you can see from the swearing-in ceremony today, all those sworn-in emerged on the platform of the PDP, I congratulate the leadership of our party, I congratulate all our members, I congratulate Deltans for making the right choice,” Dr Ejakpovi said.
Dr Ejakpovi expresed confidence that what happened during the local government elections will be replicated in the 2019 general elections saying, “you can see that Delta State is PDP, we are through with council elections, our focus now is on the 2019 elections where Deltans will come out again in greater number to vote for Governor for second term.”
