ASABA/Nigeria: Ogbuefi Amaechi Juan Governor has emerged the consensus candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Ndokwa East in the forthcoming local government elections; after a well attended meeting of political leaders from the area in Asaba.
The meeting which was held at the Asaba residence of the political leader of Ndokwa East, Chief Godwill Obielum had in attendance, current political appointees, former political appointee, major stakeholders from the area and aspirants, including the current local government chairman, Mrs. Chukwura Nkechi.
The leaders after an extensive brainstorming on the unity of the party and the area, presided by Chief Godswill Obielum, voted for a credible candidate that would bear the party’s flag in the forthcoming local government elections.
High point of the meeting was an open ballot process, where they voted for candidates of their choice, with the current local government chairman, Mrs Chukwura Nkechi pulling no vote while the over forty (40) leaders and stakeholders unanimously voted for Ogbuefi Amaechi Juan Governor, making him the choice of the PDP as was announced by the party chairman, Chief Ugo Asibelua.
Ogbuefi, Amaechi Juan Governor is from Ashaka, Ward 10 of Ndokwa East. He’s a committed Christian, Oil and Gas professional having worked in ExxonMobil for over twenty years with over a hundred Global and Local merit/high performance Awards.
He’s a philanthropist and a grass root mobilizer, having held various political appointments at both Federal and state levels with several merit Awards like the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the United State Coast Guards (USCG).
Juan Governor is currently the Executive Director, Industrial management and consulting with GMD consultancy limited. He is the Board Chairman of Delta State Agency for Adult and Non-formal Education, a first class graduate of Mechanical Engineering and Occupational Safety, Health, Environment and Security Engineering from the Petroleum Training institute, Effurun and the American society of safety engineers respectively.
He’s a member of various national and internal professional bodies including the American Society of safety engineers, American society of mechanical engineers, British safety council, Nigerian Society of Engineers, and many others.
Governor is an expert in International Ship and Port Security (ISPS), a genius, a father and teacher, safety personnel and an accomplished business and career person.
He is expected to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to bare, in transforming the local government, if he becomes the next local government chairman.
Amongst other things, the unanimous decision of the party and her leaders was to ensure the party moves with unity of purpose and to fully support and protect her interests in future elections, especially the local government elections.

Olisa Imegwu, former speaker, Delta State house of assembly, Mr. Chika Ossai, commissioner for lands and survey, Mr. Nnamdi Ezechi, commissioner representing Ndokwa nation on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Omordi George Ugbomah, former commissioner for works, Delta state, other political appointees, former and present party leaders and other opinion leaders.
