OKERENKOKO/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has lauded the electoral process conducted by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Guwor, who cast voted at Okerenkoko Ward, Unit 17, at 11:20 am, expressed satisfaction with the proceedings, accompanied by his aides and relatives. The election process was characterized by orderly conduct among voters and the timely arrival of DSIEC officials, including ad hoc staff. Security agencies were strategically deployed to maintain peace and order throughout the day.
“Nothing can be compared to democracy as it allows the electorates to pick their leaders,” Speaker Guwor remarked, highlighting the high voter turnout. He commended the citizens for their dedication to democratic governance and assured them that their participation would continue to yield the benefits of democracy.
Representing Warri South West, Rt. Hon. Guwor noted that voting was proceeding smoothly across his constituency. Confident in the process’s success, he appreciated DSIEC’s efforts to ensure free and fair elections, expressing optimism that the best candidates would emerge victorious.
“Governance at the grassroots is key to delivering the MORE agenda of the State Government,” Speaker Guwor emphasized, praising Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his leadership and adherence to electoral rules and procedures.
