ASABA/Nigeria: Workers under the Local Government Service Commission across the State have been enjoined to volunteer their support for the re-election project of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor.
The call was made by a member of the Post Primary Education Board, Dr. Henry Ofa when he paid an advocacy visit on the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Comrade Oyibo Emami in his office.
Dr. Ofa recalled that on assumption of office by Governor Okowa, employees of Local Governments were owed backlog of salary arrears.
He stated that it was noteworthy that the magnanimous gesture of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa helped to pay Local Government salaries up-to-date even though payments of Local Government workers salaries were not under the purview of the State Government.
Dr. Ofa called on employees of Local Government to reciprocate the kind gesture of Governor Okowa by voting to return him for a second tenure which will spell better fortunes for the entire state.
Dr. Ofa also took his advocacy visit to the State Contributory Health insurance Commission where he commended the health initiative of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Talking with the Chairman of the State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, Dr. Ofa stated that the advantage of the scheme is unquantifiable as it will enable sick persons to avail healthcare without let or hindrance.
He expressed optimism that the operators of the scheme will work to ensure that the gains intended by the Okowa administration from the scheme are fully realized. In the two places visited, Dr. Ofa presented copies of a journal and DVD that he used to compile the achievements of the Okowa administration.
According to Dr. Ofa, the journal and DVD were his effort to
contribute to the re-election project of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Comrade Oyibo Emami and Dr. Isaac Akpoveta acknowledged the excellent performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and agreed on the need to re-elect him for a second tenure.
They commended Dr. Ofa for his efforts and commitment to the re-election project of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
