Makinde, Well Chosen To Speak On the Topic, MANAGING POST-ELECTION CHALLENGES: Nigeria As Case Study – Online Publishers … Says Discussants Are Notable Nigerians

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta Online Publishers Forum have described the choice of Chief Williams Makinde to speak on the topic, MANAGING POST-ELECTION CHALLENGES: Nigeria As Case Study, as a right step towards redefining the Nigerian political space.

According to the publishers, “Maris Trust Council has blazed the trail of making the world to know that Nigerians can come together and discuss burning issues immediately after elections.”

“Organising a lecture for a tested politician and administrator in the person of Chief Williams Makinde to give a talk on the topic, ‘MANAGING POST-ELECTION CHALLENGES: Nigeria As Case Study’ is not only timely and relevant, but, has provided a forum for all stakeholders, especially those who are involved in the electoral process to come together,” Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli said.

Enebeli who is the Chairman, Delta Online Publishers Forum, spoke in Warri today (11/04/19) when the Secretary of Maris Trust Council, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo led some members of the Council to unveil discussants at the lecture to them.

He continued, “Maris Trust Council has obviously, done a lot of work to gather these prominent Nigerians to discuss the topic; Dr Kemi Emina who will serve as Moderator is a Journalist who joined the academic world and is currently, the National President of University of Ibadan Alumni Association; Senator Stella Omu is a tested administrator cum politician and we will like to hear her speak about her experience; Ms Faith Nwadishi of Transparency International; Chief Fred Majemite is a respected lawyer and a politician and Dr David Oba is always a delight to listen to as he gives indept analysis of events.”

“In short, Maris Lecture billed to hold on Wednesday, April 24, just two days after Easter will be the tonic that Nigerians, especially, Deltans are yearning for to calm frayed nerves, engender a peaceful environment before May 29, 2019; and we do believe that you, Maris Trust Council has reached out to all relevant stakeholders apart from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa that is billed to be the Chief Guest of Honour,” Mr. Enebeli said.

Earlier Comrade Egugbo had said, loose ends have been tidied and all was set for the first annual Maris Lecture, disclosing that the decision to organise the lecture was in line with the core objectives of Maris Trust Council which is working for a better society, a society where there is genuine love for one another.

He commended the Chairman of the Trust Council, Sir Kenneth Olise for approving the lecture to hold, adding that Chief Nicholas Chizea, a retired top management staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation  and the Oshimili Atata of Ahaba will be Chairman of the occasion, a well known administrator, Chief (Mrs) Josephine Ada Kachikwu will be the Mother of the Day while Very Rev, Fr. John Konyeke, a vibrant Catholic Priest will be the Father of the Day at the lecture which will hold at Orchid Hotel, Asaba from 12 noon on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
