ASABA/Nigeria: A foremost airline operating in Nigeria, Max Air, has opened Abuja – Asaba route to the flying public. The flights will be on a daily basis.
Speaking today with our reporters, the Asaba Station Manager of the airline, Mr Ejike Osuji, stated that the airline would be bringing what he termed the ‘Max Air advantage’ to Asaba and environs.
According to him, Max Air was known for safety, security, well trained staff and competitive fare compared to other airlines.
“We will ensure that our customers will enjoy an uncommon experience,” Mr Osuji said.
He added that the Lagos route would be added before the end of the second quarter of 2022.
During the inaugural flight, which took off from Abuja and landed in Asaba around 6.00 pm on Tuesday evening, the General Manager, Operations and Business Development, Mr. Raymond Dmodiagbe, who flew with the airline from Abuja was very elated over the step taken by the airline in launching the Abuja – Asaba and promised passengers that would be flying with the airline the best of all round services.
“Our inflight entertainment and hospitality packages are second to none in the industry. Our cabins are spacious and we fly with big aircrafts, our foods are special, we offer free WiFi, all backed by well trained pilots and highly efficient hostesses,” he said.
He then called on the traveling public to take full advantage of airline, saying that it offered ‘unique Max Air experience’.
While addressing newsmen, the Managing Director of Asaba Airport Company, Mr Christopher Pennick, expressed delight with the development and added that more airlines would soon open shop at the airport, stressing that world class facilities were available at the airport.
He listed world class conveyor belts which allows for processing of two or more flights at the same time.
Penick also mentioned highly functional run way lightning systems, state of the art fire tenders, a specious and well-designed terminal building, Instrument Landing System for efficient air navigation in adverse weather conditions and other critical facilities.
The general manager also informed reporters that work would soon commence on an international hotel and conference centre, a cargo terminal, a hanger and upgrading of the aviation fuel tank farm. All the projects will be sited within the airport environment.
He added, saying: “By the time we put in all these intended facilities in place, Asaba Airport will definitely be the choice airport for air travellers in Nigeria.”
For its flight schedule for Monday to Friday, Max Air on a daily basis leaves Abuja for Asaba by 4.30pm and departs Asaba for Abuja by 6pm.
On Saturdays and Sundays, it will depart Abuja for Asaba by 11am while it leaves Asaba for Abuja by 12.15am
To attract customers to the new route opened by the airline, the fare was brought down as low as N22,000 per passenger.
