EFFURUN/Nigeria: The Executive Secretary of Uvwie Primary Health Care, Dr Henry Ohwodedjo has called on residents of Uvwie Local Government Area to take the 3rd dose of the anti – covid 19 vaccines.
The Ohwodedjo who was represented by the Code Chain Officer, Uvwie Primary Health Care, Mrs Helen Otofe made the call in an interaction with news men at Uvwie Local Government Secretariat, Effurun recently.
Ohwodedjo explained that the 3rd dose of the vaccine also known as Pfizer was to boost the 1st and 2nd doses of the anti covid 19 vaccines.
“It would further boost the immune system of those that have taken the 1st and 2nd doses of the anti covid 19 vaccines,” he added.
Ohwodedjo however quickly added that, there must be a of six months duration before the 3rd dose can be taken
He commended government for the constant availability of the vaccines.
Ohwodedjo also noted that response by residents for the exercise was encouraging, particularly as regards the outreach movements of the exercise.
However, some health officers who spoke to newsmen during the media interaction, complained about some challenges that confronted them.
One of such, was that some residents forgot to collect their cards after vaccination.
Another challenge was that some residents were impatient during capturing in the exercise.
The officers further complained that network for the exercise was not constant.
