Men Are At Higher Risk of Contracting Covid-19 – UBTH

BENIN-CITY/Nigeria: University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has come out with its findings that there is a higher prevalent rate of the deadly Coronal Virus among men than woman.

The information was made known during a Webinar hosted by management of the institution.

Other facts that emerged from the online town hall meeting reveals that elderly people from 60 years and above are more susceptible to fatalities but early voluntary testing increased the rates of recovery and discharges.

Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and good sanitary practices as well as appropriate social distancing is very effective against contracting the virus.

The video conferencing which was moderated by the Chief Medical Director Prof Darlington Obaseki further reveals that  there is presently large scale community transmission, and the pandemic is yet to peak in Edo State and the country even when the country constantly record constant increase in the number of persons contracting the virus.
