Mid-Term in Office: Your Support Is An Inspiration For Me To Do More

Effurun: My dear people of Uvwie Constituency, I want to say thank you, a very heartfelt and genuine thank you, for all the love, support, encouragement, contribution and criticism you have given me these past two years that you reelected me to continue to serve as your voice in the delta state house of assembly.
In the periods leading to my reelection, you made it very clear that I was your preferred choice, not because I am Mr know all or Mr perfect, but because you believe so much in me and you know that together, we can forge a relationship that will not only uplift our dear Uvwie but make us the standard bearer for all that is good and bright.
I ran my election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, a party that had no visible structure on ground, a party that can be best described as the weakest amongst the oppositions back then, but for you my brethrens, platform means nothing, your key interest was on the personality and against all odd, together we stood side by side and conquered but that was only the beginning of our success story.
In this two years after, you all have ensured my sail in the house remains smooth, you have chosen not to distract me with issues especially the petty ones, just so I can stay focused and concentrate on making laws and bringing issues that affects us as a people to the fore, and this is what has led to some of the developmental stride we are seeing around the constituency today, even the few times you have drawn my attention to issues, it has been very constructive and engaging, and I can’t help but thank you again for this.
Within this time that I have held your mandate, and with you guys as my partners in the development and progress of our beloved Uvwie Constituency, we have been able to accomplish so much together, but for the sake of this appreciation not to be on the lengthy side, I will highlight only some of our major achievements.
1. Motion for the construction of a bridge over the Effurun Roundabout to help reduce traffic.
2. Completion of the Refinery road dualisation project with street lights and a spur to Ekpan Junction.
3. We inherited an abandoned Ugbomro road project, but we were able to get the contract terminated and also ensured it was reawarded to a better company to enable timely completion and durability, and this was what led to Setraco taking over the project.
4. We facilitated the construction of Obodo Avenue to Link up with Refinery road, this route will serve as a better alternative for tankers going to the refinery and in turn help to decongest the flyover and Jeddo road.
5. Massive reconstruction of schools in Uvwie, with additional furnishings.
6. Ongoing construction of 6 Classroom Blocks at Ijakpa Primary school.
7. Scholarships and grants to students from across the constituency.
8. Entrepreneurial development and capacity building for some of our youths.
The above listed, are some of the milestones we have been able to achieve together but I am willing to do even more.
As we know, the recession is biting hard on resources and it’s affecting everyone across board but I will not hide under the umbrella of recession just so I can use it as an excuse to fail you.
You sent me here because you trust in my ability to bring changes to our constituency, changes that the ordinary man walking in the streets can feel and I will not disappoint you.
I will round this up by charging you all to remain steadfast as the journey is only half way, we still have much to achieve together. To some, we have done a lot but until we position ourselves as the pride and envy of all, I will not stop in my bid to give you effective representation.
Your understanding, support and encouragement, is an inspiration for me to do more and until my last day in office, the ideology of doing more for our people is what I will stay committed to.
God bless you all!
God bless our dear Uvwie constituency!!
God bless delta state!!!

Yours in service,

Hon. Efe Ofobruku,
Member representing Uvwie constituency,
Delta state house of Assembly.
