ASABA/Nigeria: The monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the month of February will hold in Delta State on Saturday February 29, 2020, between the hours of 7am and 10am.
A statement by the State Director of Information, Mr Dona Obuseh indicated that during the period of the exercise, there would be restrictions on the movement of persons and vehicles except those engaged in essential duties and inter State journeys.
The statement further stated that the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Chris Onogba, staff of the ministry and other relevant government agencies would monitor the exercise, while officials of the State Waste Management Board and local government councils would evacuate the resultant refuse to approved government dump sites.
It stated that defaulters would be sanctioned by appropriate mobile sanitation courts which would be on standby during the exercise, even as it advised Deltans and residents in the state to use the period of the exercise to keep their surroundings and drainages clean.
