More 4500 Benefits From Free Diabetes Programme Organised By Ndokwa Association UK

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: No fewer than 5,000 persons have benefited from a three days free medical outreach organized by the Ndokwa Association in the United Kingdom.

The medical team included doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists, pharmacists and volunteers who checked and treated the patients for diabetes, high blood pressure, malaria among other health conditions, and educated them on how to take care of their health.

The President General of Ndokwa Association in United Kingdom, Pastor Ween Chukwusa, said the programme was the body’s own way of giving back to society.
Pastor Chukwusa commended the state Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental strides, especially in the area of health, and thanked the Medical Director of Obiaruku Government Hospital for allowing the use of the facility for the free medical outreach.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke thanked the association for bringing quality healthcare to their door steps and urged the body to sustain the gesture.

The programmme was used to create awareness, educating people on the condition, carry on assessment of patients, carryout a diagnostic analysis, offering medication based on prescription, developing procedures that supports patients, link patients to clinic for follow-ups.

It also focused on sustainable screening, education, management of diabetes and its complications.

The beneficiaries were attended to at Ashaka, Ossisa, and Aboh, for Ndokwa East. For those from Ndokwa West, the venue was in Utagba – Uno, Onitch -Ukwuani, and Emu-Uno. And for those in Ukwuani, they team of medical Personals were at Umutu, Umuaja, Obiaruku, Umuebu, Ebedei, and Akoku.
