WARRI/Nigeria: Motorists and pedestrians in the twin cities of Warri and Effurun have lamented the deplorable state of Enerhen Junction caused by flooding as the area is waterlogged even when there is no rain, making it difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to access.
Commenting on the poor state of the road, a renowned public analyst and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Chief Akpojotor Adjarho, remarked that the state of Enerhen Junction had brought untold sorrows to Deltans.
He however appealed that Governor Senator Okowa should urgently rehabilitate the road by constructing a good drainage system in the area that would channel water to the nearby Warri River.
A tricycle operator popularly called ‘keke’, Mr Wilson Odes, lamented that the poor state of the road had adversely affected his job, saying that most passengers avoided the road owing to the constant waterlog and traffic jam.
He therefore also appealed to Governor Okowa to rehabilitate the road which he said was one of the major gateways to Warri and Effurun.
A female passenger, who refused to disclose her identity at the popular keke park in Enerhen Junction, similarly stated that the situation was stressful for passengers to board vehicles in the Junction due the constant presence of water in the area.
