The continued agitation of the Ndokwa Youths to be liberated from the claws of what they call claws of bad leadership and representation in Ndokwa may have entered another dimension if the information reaching Ndokwa Reporters is to be taking seriously.

According to the information, the combined youths of Ndokwa ethnic nationality had planned to storm Warri soon with the aim to demand from the government of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the management of the Delta State oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), the monthly youth development stipends that is meant for youth empowerment for the youths of the area.

The youths had decided to carry out the protest at the headquarters of the commission to drive home their demand.
For some time now it had been a battle between some organised youths and some members of the political class in the area of the where about of the money.

The various youths organisations in the area has continuously pointed accusing fingers at the elected members of the Delta state house of Assembly.

The youths are demanding that the money should be made public and used for empowerment’s, establishing and equipping of centres for youth developments.

The said amount of money for some time now being an issue of discus among the youths, who had severally said that those that are in better positions to help build the area is ensuring that the money is not well spent to uplift the people through proper training and empowerment’s.

Ochor calls for Calm

Meanwhile, the youths had been called to remain calm and be law abiding as the commission and the state government is looking into the matter in other to unravel the issue of the money.
The call was made by the Executive Director on the board of the commission incharge of Social Services Development, Hon Ochor Chris Ochor.
In a press release titled: ATTENTION NDOKWA YOUTHS: RESOLUTION ON THE 20 MILLION NAIRA DESOPADEC MONTHLY SECURITY VOTE FOR YOUTHS OF ALL ETHNIC NATIONALITY, and signed by his Assistant on Youth Matters, Snr. Comr. Idi Presley Ifeanyichukwu, he told the youths that the money in question is not meant for any particular youth, but rather it is meant for development programs, in form of scholarships, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development that will aid the wellbeing of the entire youths of Ndokwa nation.

It has been brought to the notice of the Executive Director Social Services on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor the current state of agitation by various youth organisation over the channel and medium of disbursement of the said stipend.
Firstly, he has mandated me to assure everyone that the stipend is not for any particular youth group to share and take home, but rather it’s meant for developmental programs like scholarships, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development that will aid the wellbeing of the entire youths of Ndokwa Nation and its imperative everyone of us understands this fact.
He has therefore asked me to plead with every youth organisation in Ndokwa Nation to please calm their nerves, as a resolution has been taken to call a meeting of all relevant stakeholders, with representative of all youth organization in Ndokwa Nation within the next one week so as to give room for proper dialogue and then arrive at a consensus and take a collective decision that will represent the true desire of the youths to avert any form of crisis.
Invitations shall be sent across to all stakeholders by next week Monday.
