Nasarawa State Government Reiterates Commitment to Lobi Stars FC’s Comfort and Success

LAFIA/Nigeria: In a reaffirmation of support, the Nasarawa State Government, led by Governor Abdullahi Sule, has once again assured officials and players of the Nigeria Premier Football League side, Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, Benue State, of a tranquil and welcoming environment during their tenure at their adopted home ground, the Lafia City Stadium.

Governor  Sule conveyed this commitment during a meeting with the players and officials of the “Alia Boys,” as Lobi Stars are affectionately nicknamed. The encounter took place on the sidelines of the Nasarawa United versus Zamfara United 2023/24 Nigeria National League curtain-raiser at the refurbished Lafia City Stadium on a Saturday evening.

Highlighting the shared interests between Nasarawa and Benue States, Governor Sule emphasized the natural collaboration in pursuit of common goals and aspirations. He urged the team to maintain focus and diligence in their quest for the league title.

Dominic Iorfa, the Vice Chairman cum Chief Executive Officer of Lobi Stars FC and a former Nigerian International, expressed gratitude to the Governor for providing an exceptional venue for his team’s matches in the 2023/24 NPFL Season. He acknowledged the conducive atmosphere created by the State Government, attributing it to his team’s outstanding start to the season. Iorfa pledged to uphold this momentum and reciprocate the benevolence shown by Nasarawa State.

Lobi Stars FC, currently leading the NPFL table with 14 points after seven matches, are poised to face Sporting Lagos FC in the NPFL match-day eight tie on Sunday, 12th November 2023, at 4 pm, hosted at the Lafia City Stadium. The “Alia Boys” hold a three-point advantage over their opponents in this highly anticipated clash.
