ASABA/Nigeria: Drama, intrigues of the 2023 general election in the country had continued to spread as more results of the last Saturday voting across the country had continued to creep in.
The results so far released had seen upsets especially in many key areas of the main opposition party in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In the results of the national Assembly so far released in the Delta North Senatorial District, the party’s candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, with a win of 92, 514 votes from the nine local government areas of Delta North against his closest rival, Mr Kennedy Kamma, of the Labour Party, who scored 86, 121 votes, while the All Progressives Congress, APC, and sitting Senator, Barr Peter Nwaoboshi of the APC placed third with 36,816 votes
The PDP candidate won in Aniocha North, Ika North East, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas, while the Labour Party won in Aniocha South, Ika South, Oshimili North and Oshimili South, which turned in a total of 30,993 votes for the party out of the 46,591 votes cast in the LGA, as announced by the Returning Officer for the election in Delta North, Dr. Josephine Okeakwa.
Meanwhile, at the House of Representatives, the candidate of the Labour Party for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat, Mr Ngozi Okolie, was declared the winner, defeating the Minority Leader, Hon Ndudi Elumelu with a score of 53,879 votes to win as against that of Elumelu, 33,466.
The House of Representatives result was declared by Ngozi Okolie was declared winner by the Returning Officer for the Federal Constituency, Prof Kenneth Abaraibe, at the INEC collation center in the Oshimili South Local Government secretariat.
The LP candidate scored 53, 879 votes as against 33, 466 secured by the PDP candidate, Ndudi Elumelu.
