ASABA/Nigeria: Member of Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association and Principal Partner at Fred Latimore Chambers, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, has expressed admiration for Augustine Alegeh, SAN, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, describing him as a legal luminary with a heart of gold. Oghenesivbe praised Alegeh for his continuous support and guidance to new lawyers, which has contributed to their success in the legal profession.
Oghenesivbe conveyed his commendation in a goodwill message to Alegeh, SAN, on the occasion of his well-deserved national honour as Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), conferred upon him by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Recalling his early years in the legal profession as a Senior Clerk at the law firm of Sadoh & Co from 1985 to 1988, Oghenesivbe shared that he had the privilege of serving under the tutelage of Alegeh, who was then a budding lawyer. He emphasized that Alegeh’s vast knowledge of the law, sense of humor, and unwavering commitment to the legal practice inspired him to pursue a career in law later in life.
Oghenesivbe acknowledged Alegeh’s remarkable journey from a new wig to one of Nigeria’s most sought-after legal practitioners, crediting his success to hard work and dedication. He described Alegeh as a disciplined, honest, and reliable member of the inner Bar who upholds high professional ethics and actively supports the growth and excellence of new lawyers.
In his congratulatory message, Oghenesivbe expressed his admiration and respect for Alegeh, referring to him as a legal icon, mentor, and esteemed senior in the legal profession. He acknowledged Alegeh’s tenure as President of the Nigerian Bar Association, highlighting his outstanding track record in legal practice spanning over three decades and his significant contributions to both the legal community and society as a whole.
