National President of Citizens Quest for Truth Initiative Decries Escalating Kidnappings in Abuja

ABUJA/Nigeria: In a poignant expression of concern, Chief Obiaruko Christie Ndukwe, the National President of Citizens Quest for Truth Initiative, has raised an alarm over the alarming surge in kidnappings within Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. In a poetic message, Chief Ndukwe painted a grim picture of the situation, likening the perpetrators to a force akin to the notorious Boko Haram.

“In the heart of Abuja, a sinister plot unfolds, where kidnappers wield a deadly hold, their hunger for ransom knows no bounds, a terror akin to Boko Haram’s dark surrounds,” Chief Ndukwe stated in her poem-like message.

With a vivid portrayal of the dire circumstances, she continued, “With patience scarce and mercy none, they seek to reap what they have spun, each victim a pawn in their lucrative games, as they amass riches, their souls consumed by flame.”

Chief Ndukwe did not mince words, describing the criminals as “not mere criminals, but a force untamed, sowing fear and reaping ill-gotten gains, their pockets swell with fortunes untold, while families suffer in their cruel stronghold.”

Expressing the urgency of addressing the issue as an act of terror, she warned, “Should we not confront this as an act of terror, our very existence they may come to impair. Abuja, the capital where power resides, now faces a threat that steadily bides.”

In a call for decisive action, she advocated for a radical stance and unwavering support for law enforcement. “A radical stance is the need of the hour, no gentle touch, no lenient power, equip the forces, empower the law, match their might with an unyielding draw.”

Chief Ndukwe also emphasized the need for strength in the face of adversity, stating, “Let the police be endowed with strength and might, their worth akin to the lawmakers’ right, and if we must call on foreign aid’s decree, so be it to set our people free.”

The alarming escalation of kidnappings in the Federal Capital Territory has not only seen an increase in ransom demands but has now tragically resulted in the loss of lives. The recent killing of one of the six sisters abducted in Abuja serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive and effective measures to combat this growing menace.
