National Youth Games: Kaduna’s Male, Female Hockey Teams Subdue Opponents

KADUNA/Nigeria: Kaduna’s male and female teams took off on a good start with wins over opponents at the ongoing fourth edition of the National Youth Games, taking place at the University of Ilorin as the hockey events began on Tuesday.

Team Kaduna male team trounced its counterpart from Abia 5-0 in its first game and thrashed Oyo 4-0 in the second match.

Their female team beat sports power house Delta State 4-1 in one of their matches played.

In other hockey results, Rivers State male team played a 0-0 draw with Gombe 0.

Oyo fell to Gombe 0-1, and Abia beat Rivers 1-0 to sum up male results for the day.

Benue girls failed to beat Bauchi as both teams ended up in a goalless draw 0-0 in one of the female matches.

Ogun however, were not as lucky as Bauchi as they fell 0-2 to Benue girls.

Delta came back from the defeat suffered in the hands of Kaduna to beat Bauchi 1-0 to round up results gathered from female matches for the day.

As at time of filing this report, the result from the female match between

Ogun vs Kaduna was yet to be gathered by our correspondent.
