Oghara: A one day Medical Rhapsody of the Nigerian Naval Logistics Command Oghara, Delta State has ended at Ogharefe, Ethiope West local government area of Delta State with participants treated from various ailment, free of charge.
The Flag Officer Commanding the Nigeria Naval Logistics Command Oghara, Rear Admiral Belgory Ibe-Enwo who was the chief host at the occasion, appreciated the people of Oghara and the entire Ethiope West local government area for their support and enabling environment created for them to operate.
The commanding officer said that “the medical Rhapsody is in line with the directives of the chief of Naval Staff”, adding that the programme was designed as a part of the celebration of the 61st years anniversary of the establishment of the Nigeria Navy which came into operation in 1/06/1956.
He advised Ethiope West people to key into the medical programme since it will go a long way in reducing some of their health challenges that will make them live healthy and robust life that could keep them long on earth.
The Medical Officer, Surgeon Lt. Joseph Obasi, who took the participants on a health talk, “titled Meningitis”, “The causes and its preventions” advised that they should take good care of their environment as it is one of the ways to prevent such diseases.
Chief Akpero Augustine, “The Oberiyoma of Oghara kingdom” represented the monarch of Oghara kingdom at the event, and others applauded men of the Nigerian Naval Logistics Command Oghara for their kind gesture, appealing that the programme be replicated in other parts of the local government area so that everyone in the area could enjoy the same free health benefit.
Services rendered by the Nigeria Navy during the exercise were, malaria treatment, laboratory text, de-worming of children and distribution of mosquito.
