SAPELE/Nigeria: Commodore Francis Damtong, Commandant, Nigerian Naval Engineering College in Sapele, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for infrastructural development.
Commodore Damtong, who stated this when our correspondent paid him a visit at the Naval Base Sapele to present copies of the 2022 Delta State Calendars to him as directed by Ministry of Information, Asaba, also and for partnership with the state government in education and industrial training.
According to Damtong, Governor Okowa had done well in terms of infrastructural development in Delta State and wished state could construct a cross road from Sapele, Warri and Ughelli that will span to Asaba.
While calling on the local and state government to partner with the naval college on education, he said that the base had large land space for development, especially in the area of primary and secondary school education.
Damtong, equally stated that the Engineering College was well equipped and wonder while students from the state universities and polytechnics do not come for their industrial training at the college, saying that they stood to gain a lot.
The naval commandant noted that the Nigerian Navy was ever ready to work with the local and state government in ensuring peace and stability in the state and called on the government to take good advantage of facilities at the base.
