OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Delta State Chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Hon. Lordson Ewhupareh has said that the NCP is out to abolish poverty in Nigeria; set for winning and not for negotiations in the forthcoming Local Government elections across the state.
Hon. Lordson said this while addressing party faithfuls in Obiaruku at the weekend. He stated that unlike other parties, those NCP members have conscience and therefore, do not defect to other parties because they believe in their goal which is the “abolition of poverty” from the country.
“We don’t decamp from one party to the other, we will remain in NCP till our goal of making Nigeria a better country is achieved.”
He added that NCP is a winning party, and that the policy of the party which is to liberate Nigerians from the shackles of bad and incompetent leadership has not changed.
“We shall win in every ward that produces candidates for any position in the coming Local Government elections”, he stated.
The Chairman of the party also advised the members to be prepared for the coming election in January 2018 even as he called on them to follow the elections guidelines to the latter as released by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC).
Also, the Deputy State Chairman, Comr. Egoro Mike has commended NCP faithfuls in Ukwuani Local Government Area, especially the National Leader, Hon Ifeanyi Anyim for the warm reception and for keeping the party flag flying in Ukwuani. He enjoined them to remain committed to the goal of the party – to abolish poverty from Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the host, a former National Assembly candidate of the NCP in the 2015 general elections, Hon. Anyim Ifeanyi expressed his gratitude to NCP members in Ukwuani LGA and the state executives for what he described as a new dawn in the party. He noted that, while there are strong oppositions on ground in Ukwuani that the NCP will spring up surprises in the forthcoming elections. “Winning is our priority”, he enthused.
Hon. Ifeanyi who is also a National leader of the party, therefore called on NCP supporters and loyalists to register and get their voters’ card as the voters’ card is the only instrument they will need to abolish poverty from Ukwuani and Nigeria as a whole.
Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of Party Membership Card to the party’s LGA chairman, Mr Orji Accra. In his short remarks, the LGA chairman, assured the party hierarchy that they will ensure that their candidates are delivered in the coming election.
