ABOH/Nigeria: An Ndokwa Christian group, known as Ndokwa Christian Congress on Evangelism had called on Christians in the area to support the present government in the state, through prayers, and dissemination of information on the achievement of the government in areas of infrastructure development, and other vital social services the government of Okowa had been able to execute.
The decision was reached during a four days inter-denominational conference held in Ossisa, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area recently.
The group said that the government under Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has done much in the area, and deserve praise and endorsement for a second term. They pointed out development on roads construction and rehabilitation, skill acquisition programmes for traders, youths and other social impacts in health care and education that the government had strived to upgrade in the area.
To sure up supports for his re election, the Christian body called on all those who had attained the age of 18 years and above to register and obtain their Permanent Voters Card to enable them exercise their civic duty of voting, as they had agreed that Okowa must be returned back as governor of the state in 2019.
In one of the lectures presented by the chairman of the group, Rev. D.A. Ozah, challenged Christians to be actively involved in politics, and the administration of their communities as nothing is wrong as leadership is not idol worship.
In his message, the governor, who was represented by his Executive Assistant on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, expressed his joy for the supports expressed from the different religious bodies in the state, and tasked them not to relent in their prayer supports to the government.
The four days programme was attended by Christians of Ndokwa extraction across the country.
