The rampaging flood in the coastal areas of Delta state had reportedly resulted to the death of the life of an infant in Okpai, Ndokwa East LGA, of Delta state, as evacuation has commenced in Abala –Oshimili do to the rising flood.
According to members of the Ndokwa East Flood coordinating committees, the Abala-Oshimili Community had been completely taken over by the flood, while Utchi community is almost submerged.
An unconfirmed report reaching Ndokwa Reporters said that the death of the infant of 11 years was caused by the high level of water that swept the child away.
Meanwhile, the LGA Executive Chairman, Mrs Nkechi Chukwurah is appealing to the people of Delta and Ndokwa nation in particular to join in the coordination and evacuation of victims and also assist the people.
