Ndokwa East LGA to Evacuate Citizens as Flood Hits the Area

The people of Ndokwa East LGA, in Delta state are at the verge of being submerged by flood, as the coastal communities along the River Niger is now being flooded by the water overflowing the bank of the river
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of the Council area, Mrs Nkechi Chukwurah has ordered the immediate evacuation of the affected communities from Sunday, October 4, 2015, to Ashaka, where a camped had been prepared and fumigated at the Ashaka Skill Acquisition Centre.
According to latest information from the council area, many of the communities along River Niger, especially Abala Obodo, Abala Uno, Abala Osumili, Utchi, Onuaboh, Inyi, Okpai, Abalagada, Aboh, Akarai, Umuolu and Adiai-Obiaka, have been flooded.
Ndokwa Reporters was informed by our source that the council area has called on the state government and well-meaning Ndokwa citizens and groups to come out at this early stage to help in the evacuation to avoid the reoccurrence of heavy loss of lives and properties which occurred during the 2012 flood which many died, including the traditional ruler of Adiai (Agadagba of Adiai).
It could be remembered that the Delta state government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), had been carrying out massive campaign for people in the flood prone areas to evacuate the before the impending flood.
