Ndokwa Nation seek More Support for Delta and Federal Government

KWALE/NIGERIA:  A call has been made to the people of Ndokwa to give more supports to the activities of both the Delta state government and the federal government of Nigeria, especially in the area of peace and management of the nation’s resources.

The call was made by the President General of Ndokwa Nation, High Chief Johnson Opone, when he granted interview to the press.

Chief Opone said that for any government to succeed there must be support from the people, and people of Ndokwa should always give that support, to encourage those at the helm of affair to do more.

According to him, both the state and federal government has shown much interest to the development of Ndokwa nation, which will soon materialise, saying that is not every move made to attract development to the people that you make public.

Speaking on the condition of people of Ndokwa with regard to the present government in the state, he said a lot had been achieved with the special attention the government had given to roads in the area, the construction of the Umutu Skill Acquisition Centre in Umutu, which Governor Okowa moved from the Ministry of Youths, and gave to DESOPADEC to complete, and he is much interested in that job after been abandoned for almost 18 years, the newly approved Skill Acquisition Centre in Kwale, the renovation of Kwale Technical College, the resurfacing of the Obiaruku-Amai-Ogume-Kwale road, the construction of the Abbi-Ezhionum road, the awarding of many other roads in Ndokwa by the government, calls for more support for government of the day.

In the same vain, while frowning at the recent activities of the Ndokwa youths who went to demonstrate at the presidency in Abuja, he said that Ndokwa agitation has to be collective, and pointed out that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has listened to many demands of the people of Ndokwa presented to him with interaction with the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, just as the Office of Federal Government Programme on Amnesty has developed interest on issues that concerns the area.

“Soon the various demands to the state government and federal government will start to manifest, and the Ndokwa people will appreciate that we had been working.” He said.

“We have to give the governments the supports, violent agitation will not solve it. We will achieve more through dialogue and negotiation.” He said.

“It’s only peaceful environment and prudent management that will develop the society, the governments at both levels are doing a lot on this areas. They need our encouragements.”
