Members at the Town Hall Meeting in Kwale
The president general of Ndokwa Neku Union and member representing the south-south minorities at the national conference, Chief (Pharm) Paul .O. Enebeli on Sunday April 20,2014 addressed the sons and daughters of Ndokwa land to notify them on their position at the ongoing conference going at Abuja, the town hall meeting was held at Kwale.
According to him, the Ndokwa position was compiled using the papers presented by Ndokwa study group led by late Dr.P.C.Obadoni,the N.N.U committee headed by Prof.Benard Ejechi on the position paper to the senate committee on constitutional review, the decisions reached at the All Nigeria People constitutional review, which held under the auspices of the house of representatives, disclosing the highlights of the Ndokwa position to the conference that the urgent need for fiscal federalism encompassing resource control, devolution of power and derivation, the need to take another look at the form of government; in this regard a return to the parliamentary form of government and recommendation for a part-time legislator, the creation of Anioma state, the creation of equity in the number of states in the current geopolitical zones to assuage the cries of the people of the south-east zone and the need to make local government creation a function of the federating unit.
Pharm.Paul Enebeli stressed that in the course of his 4 weeks at the conference, he have been involved in the caucus meetings and hoped that as they continue the conference, other caucuses are likely to emerge along the zonal, professional, N.G.O and informal lines. He thanked the good people of Ndokwa nation for the rare opportunity provided for him to represent the Ndokwas and other southern minorities at this all important conference. He called the town meeting because of his strong belief in the will of the people and the need to carry them alongs.He appealed to all and sundry to suggest and make available advise that will make his representation worth a while.
