KWALE/Nigeria: The Chairman of Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, Hon. (Chief) Goddey Obi-Nzete, has called on the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Chief Sunday Enu, to prioritize the interests of the Council over personal considerations. Chief Obi-Nzete made this appeal during the swearing-in ceremony held at the Council Secretariat in Kwale on Tuesday, September 17.
In his address, the Council Chairman urged Chief Enu to serve as a unifying force between the elders and youths of the Local Government and work closely with the Council staff to advance the development of Ndokwa-West. He emphasized that as a former Vice-Chairman of the Local Government, Chief Enu should leverage his experience in effectively managing Council affairs.
While congratulating the new SLG on his appointment, Chief Obi-Nzete reminded him to uphold his oath of office with integrity and to be mindful of his words and actions in his new role.
In his response, Chief Sunday Enu expressed gratitude to Chief Obi-Nzete and the Council for entrusting him with the position. He pledged to work diligently to ensure that Ndokwa-West Local Government achieves greater progress under his tenure.
The event was attended by notable officials including the Vice-Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Margaret Anowu, Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ikogwe Frank, Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Hon. Ojuyenum Chukwubueze, Supervisor for Education, Hon. Elijah Obi, and the Head of Personnel Management, Madam Esther Okonkwo, along with other management staff.
