KWALE/Nigeria: Ndokwa West Local Government has issued a strong warning to the public to disregard a circulating notice demanding an annual waste levy from shop owners, hoteliers, and traders in Delta North. The fraudulent notice, which instructs recipients to pay ₦15,000 into a Fidelity Bank account belonging to ‘Vicky and Wins Global Concept’ (account number 5600605595), threatens defaulters with arraignment at a revenue/mobile court.
In response, the media team of Ndokwa West Local Government Chairman, Chief Obi Nzete, condemned the fake notice, making it clear that the current council administration has not appointed any revenue committee, nor is it aware of any group authorized to collect such fees. The public has been urged to report any individuals attempting to enforce this fraudulent levy to the nearest police station.
“This is a clear case of fraud, and we are advising all residents to remain vigilant,” stated a member of Chief Nzete’s media team. “The council has not sanctioned any such payments, and we encourage the public to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.”
Ndokwa Reporters has also gathered that similar fraudulent activities are occurring across other senatorial zones in Delta State. Victims of this scam include Emeka Gideon from Ozoro, who paid ₦10,000, and Okoh Uzoamaka Victoria, who was coerced into paying ₦20,000, exceeding the fraudulent demand of ₦15,000.
The public is advised to remain cautious and to verify the legitimacy of any such notices before making payments.
