Ndokwa Women Decry Lack Of Presence In Political Offices

KWALE/Nigeria: Ndokwa Women in Ndokwa West Local Government Area have agitated for equal rights to be elected into political position come 2023 and other subsequent elections.

The agitation was contained in an address presented by the President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWA) Ndokwa West Chapter, Mrs. Augusta Enebeli, on the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration in Kwale (Utagba-Ogbe).

The NCWS president described women as being wonderfully created by God as mothers, sisters, wives and house keepers and above all, might of silent strength, joy and comfort.

Enebeli regretted that Ndokwa West was the only local government council without women in legislative and executive arms, adding that the women were bitter about the situation.

She stressed that Ndokwa West women were qualified for any political post, adding: “We ask that the women be considered in the nearest future, especially 2023 election.”

In a similar development, the Ndokwa West Wing of the National Council of Women Societies has reaffirmed its support for the People Democratic Party (PDP) election in 2023.

The NCWS president stated the women position at Utagba-Ogbe during this year Women’s Day celebration.

She disclosed that women had benefitted immensely from the present dispensation, adding that the free maternal medical service being enjoyed in the state was a major policy boost for women across the state.

The president stated that the state governor had equally made medical services free for children under the age of five.

She called on women to indicate their interest in elective position.
