KOKO/Nigeria: Subscribers of Nigeria’s leading network provider, Mobile Telecommunications Corporation (MTN), residing in Koko community within the Warri North Local Government Area, have raised vociferous complaints over the prolonged absence of network coverage in their locality.
Recent reports indicate that the MTN network abruptly ceased functioning in the area two days ago, leaving residents disconnected from vital communication services. Despite continuous efforts, the network remains elusive, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the restoration timeline.
Mr. Shola Mattu, a resident deeply impacted by the outage, disclosed that despite the consistent operation of the company’s generating plant, the network remained inaccessible. “The generating plant powering our mast has been operational without interruption, yet our network connection remains dormant,” Mattu stated, expressing frustration over the persistent issue.
Echoing Mattu’s sentiments, Mr. Eugene Bawo criticized MTN’s lackadaisical approach to addressing customer grievances. He emphasized the urgent need for system upgrades in the area to enhance network performance. “MTN network has been non-existent in Koko for three days now. I will also add that they really need to upgrade their systems to boost their network in the area, because it is not that excellent here,” Bawo remarked, highlighting the necessity for proactive measures.
Miss Felicia Daibo emphasized the adverse impact of the outage on the community’s social and economic activities, urging MTN to prioritize improving service delivery. “The issue has significantly disrupted our daily lives and economic transactions. MTN must prioritize enhancing their service relations with customers,” Daibo asserted, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
Furthermore, residents implored MTN’s customer service department to engage proactively with affected subscribers through media channels, facilitating effective communication and ameliorating the repercussions of network disruptions.
Amid mounting grievances, residents await prompt action from MTN to rectify the prolonged network outage and restore seamless connectivity to the Koko community.
