ASABA/Nigeria: The new Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo Esq, has charged senior management staff of his ministry to be very resourceful to ensure they achieve the best for the ministry.
The new Attorney-General in his maiden address to senior management staff of his ministry in his office, remarked that, “I rely on your corporation to succeed as the various heads of this ministry. If I think I can do everything by myself, then I am lying. I am going to lean on you to succeed. ”
“The only way I can achieve success is to depend on you. We have to work as a team. Because that is the only way we can achieve what we set out to achieve. I have an ambitious agenda that I will like to implement. They will be rolled out in the next few days. It is going to focus mainly on criminal justice reform, civil justice reform. But the main one I really want to do, is capacity building in the ministry “He added.
He continued, “I will do this, across the different departments. How do we improve individual capacity to deliver the mandate we want. So if you are the DPP, you are in civil litigation, legal drafting, capacity building is key for me and you have been wearing the shoe up till now, so you know where the shoe is pinching. ”
He told them that to make things happen, they need to interact frequently to improve the more, while charging them further to come out with good ideas on how they can improve things in the ministry and not him alone proffering the ideas.
Mr Bozimo assured the staff that he will operate an all-inclusive form of administration as an open minded human being, remarking that there is no idea to him which is too farfetched.
He added “if an idea comes, mine is to say how we can achieve this, if you identify a bottle neck, please also have an idea of how we can solve it. But feel free, my doors are open, any time, we can discuss and let us see how we can do things together. Let us be proud of what the ministry can do. I need you to work harder. Let endear in us problem solving approach. ”
He advised all the staff to avoid lateness to work, to be regular and punctual to their duty since the ministry under his supervision will not condone any act that will be inimical to the progress of his ministry.
The functioning Solicitor general and Permanent Secretary, Mr Omamuzo Erebe Esq, who had earlier received the Commissioner into office Friday last week, appreciated him on behalf of the staff.
He assured him that with the staff that are already hard working in their respective duty post, the best is yet to come and hopefully, he will get a better results.
