DELTA/Nigeria: The Director General, Delta State Traffic Management Authority, Cdr. Azubuike Sam Idah (Rtd) has admonished newly recruited officers to be of good conduct and ensure that they carry out their duties with utmost commitments.
Idah, who gave the advice while interacting with the officers said that some of them would be deployed to their operational zones.
He stated that formal orientation would soon be organised for them, adding that they would work for a period of six months before they would be paid their salaries cumulatively just as he said that DESTMA officers provide essential duties.
The DG reminded them that although they were civil servants who now serve as paramilitary officers would be trained by police officers even as he disclosed that officers in the operations unit were entitled to 35 percent hazard allowance of their salary while those working in the office would be paid 15% of their salary as special duty allowance.
Commander Idah reiterated that the Authority operates a high level of discipline and officers are required to abide by the rules, while thanking His Excellency, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for giving DESTMA the opportunity for replacements.
