WARRI/Nigeria: Shammar Educational Foundatio, SEF, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) has embarked on a 3-days free community healthcare programme in Enerhen Community, Uvwie Local Government Area.
The free community healthcare programme which includes: checking of blood pressure, treatment of eye diseases, provision of medicated glasses and treatment of malaria fever by medical doctors and nurses.
The benefitting areas include: Enerhen Town, Shammar Educational Foundation SEF headquarters, Kolokolo, Enerhen Community, and Ekpan Community all in Uvwie Local Government Area and Iyara in Warri South Local Government Area.
The facilitator of the NGO, Dr Mrs Onyi Ikemefuna in her address at day one of the programme at Enerhen Community Hall, explained that the gesture was parts of Christmas package of SEF for the benefiting areas
“It is our desire for you to celebrate Christmas in good health,” she said, disclosing that the gesture would be extended to Udu Local Government Area in 2020.
Dr Mrs Ikemefuna explained that the free community healthcare was aimed at complimenting Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s health programmes for Deltans.
She also expressed appreciation to Union Fibre Nigeria Limited, Abba Multi Concern Nigeria Limited, Madonna Clinic, Sedico, Enerhen Community, especially Dr Mrs Ofili for their contributions towards the free community health care programme.
Those who spoke to our correspondents on the programme expressed appreciation to the facilitator of the NGO, attested that SEF had done a lot of good things for the community including empowerment programmes
They therefore called on corporate organizations and well meaning Nigerians in the areas to emulate the gesture of Shammar Educational Foundation.
