Niger Delta Group Urges President Tinubu to Renew Tompolo’s Pipelines Surveillance Contract for National Benefit …… Highlights Role in Protecting Oil Infrastructure and Ensuring Peace in Niger Delta

WARRI/Nigeria: The Niger Delta Indigenous Movement For Radical Change (NDIMRC) has called upon President Senator Bola Tinubu to renew the pipelines surveillance contract of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo.

The group in a statement emphasised that this move is vital for the nation’s well-being and urges the Federal Government to collaborate with Tompolo in safeguarding critical oil and gas infrastructure, thereby fostering lasting peace in the oil-rich Niger Delta Region.

The NDIMRC recognizes the immense contribution of the Niger Delta Region’s oil to the national economy. In their statement, they implore President Tinubu not to heed the negative voices that question Tompolo’s management of oil bunkering issues since he was awarded the surveillance contract during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Represented by its President Nelly Emma, Secretary John Sailor, and Public Relations Officer (PRO) Stanley Mukoro, the group strongly advises President Tinubu to renew Tompolo’s pipelines surveillance contract. They commend Tompolo’s efforts in curbing oil theft and stress that he has significantly benefited the nation since assuming this responsibility.

Describing Tompolo as a peace-loving individual who prioritizes the nation’s interests, the NDIMRC accuses certain elements of trying to disrupt the economy by pilfering crude oil. The group’s statement reads, “We want to commend President Tinubu for the good things he is doing for the nation, but we want to appeal to him not to listen to mischief makers and enemies of our country…”

The NDIMRC highlights their investigation’s findings, revealing the connection between disgruntled ex-militants opposing Tompolo’s contract renewal and those involved in oil theft. They urge the President to thoroughly investigate these opponents, asserting that they stand to gain from the perpetuation of oil theft.

As an independent oil monitoring group in the Niger Delta Region, NDIMRC expresses satisfaction with Tompolo’s success in countering oil bunkering activities. They attribute increased oil production and subsequent revenue generation to his relentless efforts. The group concludes by emphasizing Tompolo’s significant role in advancing the Niger Delta Region and implores the Federal Government to renew his contract.

In their call for collaboration with Tompolo to ensure enduring peace and elevated oil production in the Niger Delta, NDIMRC cautions President Tinubu against falling victim to sponsored agitators. They allege that some agitators are working in cahoots with oil thieves and urge the government to expose those behind illegal oil bunkering for the betterment of the nation.

The group reveals that oil production has risen dramatically since Tompolo took on the surveillance contract, pointing to his effectiveness in tackling oil theft. Addressing opponents of the contract renewal, they scrutinize their motives and affiliations. They also draw attention to the AKK Gas project, suggesting that these opponents may be pawns in the larger scheme of disrupting the oil sector.

The NDIMRC concludes by urging transparency in the investigation of those obstructing Tompolo’s contract renewal, emphasizing the need to reveal the truth behind their intentions. The group’s statement underscores Tompolo’s pivotal role in driving positive change and economic growth in the Niger Delta Region.
