WARRI/Nigeria: Nigerians had been called to continue to be hopeful as the country enters another year of her independence from British rule, as she will witness a brighter future in the area of economic and industrial development.
Making the call during the 57 years anniversary of Nigerians independence, the Executive Director, Social Services Development on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DSOPADEC, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, said Nigerians should not lose hope because of their past experiences as the sustenance of democratic rule for close to twenty years had ushered great freedom and development to the country.
Making reference to the state, he said with all the challenges, Delta had seen great development, and with total collaboration with the state government, more development will come, as the government is not insensitive to the plight of the average Nigerian living in the state.
“The governor, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in his independence day speech has told Deltans that he feels their pains, which shows that hope is not lost, which means the government will work continuously to see the people are confortable”. He said.
He congratulated Nigerians for attaining the ripe age of 57, and call on all agitators to observe the constitutional provisions to achieve their demands.
Hon Ochor however, called on the people to always be part of the Nigerian project, as the development of any society is the collective responsibility of all, and not only of the government or those elected or appointed to run the affairs of the state.
