Nigeria Drug Agency Engages Delta Community Youths In Shoot Out

UDU/Nigeria: There was a prolonged shoot out at Opete, in Udu Local Government Area, between the community boys and men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday, 9th of February, 2022.

The shoot out, which began at about 3:30 pm lasted for about 20 minutes, terrifying both commuters, vendors and residents.

A commercial motorcycle rider (name not given), who witnessed the shootout while taking cover, stated that they (the witnesses) had no idea what happened or why the NDLEA were in Opete.

He went further to state that the NDLEA must have gotten reports about something illegal going on in Opete but no one was able to make contact with them.

As at the time of this report, it has not been ascertained the reason for the shootout and no casualty was reported.
