The former Governor of Anambra state Dr.Chukwuemeka Ezeife(Okwadike of Igboukwu) has called on Nigerians to note that our problem is simple, The Governor who visited Asaba recently at Grand Hotel on the event of Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly conference stated that Nigeria is made up of ethnic nationalities, some of whom share social, cultural and historical links, going into the long past, adding that we maximize national peace to the extend that we recognize this groups and as much as possible, let likes stay with likes in geographical zones.
What are these Nationalities? They are very few.
In the North, there are mainly two.(1)The Chadic people:-Shua Arabs, Hausa, Fulani.
(2)The Kwararafa/Bantu people often called Benue Congo people each group not very large, The Governor stated.
On the other hand,Dr.Ezeife said that in the south, people appear to be satisfied with their geographical zonal compartmentalizations.He buttressed that fair efforts needs to be made, to make the Northern people embrace more equitable zonal compartmentalization of various people, adding that the zone of the Chadic people seems to be clearly defined, if indeed, the claim about relative population is justified.
However, people of the south needs to put in place effective efforts to create geographical zonal structure that will entail fairness,justice,equity and clearly acceptable to the Chadic/Shua Arabs and Benue-Congo/Kwararafa and Bantu people of the North.
