Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary: Delta State Governor Expresses Gratitude for Unity and Resilience Amid Challenges

ASABA/Nigeria: In a moving speech delivered at Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary celebrations, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori paid tribute to the nation’s founders, past and present leaders, and the divine intervention that has preserved Nigeria’s unity and strength.

Acknowledging the unwavering courage, sacrifices, and tenacity exhibited by those who fought for Nigeria’s independence and the dedication and commitment of leaders at all levels of government. He expressed profound gratitude for the country’s unity despite the myriad of challenges it has faced.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to Almighty God that our country, despite numerous challenges, has remained united and strong,” the Governor stated.

Paying homage to Nigeria’s founding fathers, the Governor celebrated their pivotal roles in securing the nation’s independence and the enduring legacy of their courage and sacrifices. He also commended the dedication and commitment of both past and present leaders who have strived to keep the country unified.

Governor Oborevwori extended his appreciation to the Armed Forces and security agencies for their sacrifices in maintaining national unity and security. He offered prayers for their continued protection and blessings in their efforts to safeguard the nation’s unity and territorial integrity.

On his achievement so far, Oborevwori highlighted the completion of inherited projects and the initiation of new ones in alignment with the “M.O.R.E agenda.”

“As we celebrate the 63rd Independence anniversary of our beloved country,” Governor Oborevwori concluded, “I enjoin all Deltans to continue in the spirit of brotherhood, love, and peaceful co-existence for the progress of the State and the country in general. Our State has been acknowledged as one of the most peaceful in the country, and it requires the cooperation and understanding of all to keep it that way.”
